Netflix for Clothes! Review of Le tote and Couture Squared

Image
Recently I stumbled upon two ingenious websites and I had to try them out. http://letote.com/r/D45B39 They are clothing rental sites that lend out an "unlimited" number of clothes to girls for a monthly fee. It's like Netflix, but with clothes and no live streaming (due to the disappointing #fail of science to create teleportation yet).  Anyway, awesome idea right? The sites are done really well to let you customize your selection. Just like Netflix quizzes you on which movies you like to give your suggestions, they give a quiz to see which clothes fit you and your style best. How it works: - You pay a monthly fee between $30-50. - You set up a customized style profile. - Based on that profile they send you 4-6 items of clothing and/or accessories. (Sadly those clothes/accessories are not necessarily paired to match or create a complete outfit. They want you to have to mix them with your own clothes) - You wear the items (don't ri...

Wedding Planning Sucks, Don't Let Anyone Tell You Otherwise

Image
Truth time: Has anyone ever told you that planning a wedding is one of the most stressful and challenging endeavors you will ever endure? I think supposedly the actual wedding day is cool, but I cannot say from experience. I trust that those who told me their wedding day was magical and great were being truthful. However , it just occurred to me that no one ever warned me how much planning a wedding will consume, disrupt and stress up your life.  Either my friends who got married in the past are way better at managing stress and high volume of tasks than me or they were holding some of it in. I'm going to go with the latter.  I commend you past and future brides for the amount of work you go through and how you gracefully respond to others constant questions about "how is wedding planning going?" You girls are angels.  But it was never my style to be graceful. I have no filter and no shame, so I am told. So just so EVERYONE knows , if you haven't done it yourselves...

Department Store Makeup, Drug Store Prices

Image
Today I'm going to show you how to get the best quality make up for the cheapest prices.  (My look with some of the products I'll show you)  If you haven't kept up on make up trends of late, or haven't been to the mall to see new stores such as "Skin Food" pop up, then you may not be aware that Korean make up is all the rage right now. Korean make up is very high-quality, uses a lot of natural ingredients, and works just as good as the kind of make up you expect to find at a high class department store. (On the left: Benefit's tint from Sephora costs $22, right: Korean brand Peripera's tint costs $5 +shipping ) (Left: my plain lips, right: Benefit tint after two applications ) (Left: Peripera's Cherry Juice tint water one application, right: still benefit) (So you can see for the price it's very good quality, it stands out more than my favorite tint from benefit! Though I probably will still use benefits brand for my cheeks, the Peripera's ...

Simple Tip for a Delicious Salad

Image
Lets face it a salad is only as good as it's dressing. Too much and the salad is ruined, but just enough of the right type and the salad's deliciousness is multiplied to yum tastic heights in your mouth. I'm always looking for a good dressing and I finally found a great berry vinegrette. It's so good I want to put it on other things not just salad. I keep being tempted to put it on weird stuff like ice cream and cookies until I remember it's got vinegar in it. Anyway I got this dressing at Wal-Mart grocery and love it. It's "all natural" so it expires sooner than other dressings, but you really can't beat the price and low calorie amount. It uses real juices and fruit purees to get an excellent flavor. I used it on my berry and almond kale salad and it tasted amazing! I'm going to try spinach next. Now here is the only downside:  It uses "High Fructose Corn Syrup." If I knew that originally I...
