Why I Never Care to Shop Again

Image
I used to be like many girls enjoying shopping with their friends or alone. I loved buying new clothes and new things. I spent the majority of my paychecks or any other income on new things for my closet or bedroom. It became something ugly though when I did not have enough money left for things that mattered more to me like going out, bigger ticket items or gifts for family members. In the worst moments I did not have enough money for things like groceries, bills or the mounding credit card debt. I started to feel guilty whenever I spent too much money or purchased something I did not really need, but I could not stop. I love pretty things, I love having new clothes and I love the fun experience of getting something new. It makes me feel alive, until I get home and have to put it all away in my overflowing closets. The issue of materialism, shopping and clutter became so troublesome that I have now come to a point where I don't care for it anymore. I'm sure many people ...

Netflix for Clothes! Review of Le tote and Couture Squared

Image
Recently I stumbled upon two ingenious websites and I had to try them out. http://letote.com/r/D45B39 They are clothing rental sites that lend out an "unlimited" number of clothes to girls for a monthly fee. It's like Netflix, but with clothes and no live streaming (due to the disappointing #fail of science to create teleportation yet).  Anyway, awesome idea right? The sites are done really well to let you customize your selection. Just like Netflix quizzes you on which movies you like to give your suggestions, they give a quiz to see which clothes fit you and your style best. How it works: - You pay a monthly fee between $30-50. - You set up a customized style profile. - Based on that profile they send you 4-6 items of clothing and/or accessories. (Sadly those clothes/accessories are not necessarily paired to match or create a complete outfit. They want you to have to mix them with your own clothes) - You wear the items (don't ri...

Review: True&Co - Innovative Bra Shopping that Just Misses the Mark InService

Image
I found True & Co from an ad on Facebook and it really was a neat little find. It's a bra and Lingere site that is designed to make bra shopping more custom tailored and successful. I really liked the concept, but it's customer service is lacking in ways that force me to give this service a 2 out of 5. The good: It's super convenient and innovative! You simply take a quiz about all your bra struggles and desires and they automatically pair you with bras designed to fit your needs.  For example if you have trouble with bra overhang or overly right straps, they look for bras that solve those specific issues. They even suggest different sizes for each bra based on the fit of that particular bra. You may be a 34 B in Calvin Klein, but a 32 C in Night Out, and they give you those suggestions.  Having a way to customize your bra search to your needs is very comforting. (Classy box it all comes in) It's also really convenient because you don't have to go to the stor...
