Wedding Planning Sucks, Don't Let Anyone Tell You Otherwise

Image
Truth time: Has anyone ever told you that planning a wedding is one of the most stressful and challenging endeavors you will ever endure? I think supposedly the actual wedding day is cool, but I cannot say from experience. I trust that those who told me their wedding day was magical and great were being truthful. However , it just occurred to me that no one ever warned me how much planning a wedding will consume, disrupt and stress up your life.  Either my friends who got married in the past are way better at managing stress and high volume of tasks than me or they were holding some of it in. I'm going to go with the latter.  I commend you past and future brides for the amount of work you go through and how you gracefully respond to others constant questions about "how is wedding planning going?" You girls are angels.  But it was never my style to be graceful. I have no filter and no shame, so I am told. So just so EVERYONE knows , if you haven't done it yourselves...

Review: True&Co - Innovative Bra Shopping that Just Misses the Mark InService

Image
I found True & Co from an ad on Facebook and it really was a neat little find. It's a bra and Lingere site that is designed to make bra shopping more custom tailored and successful. I really liked the concept, but it's customer service is lacking in ways that force me to give this service a 2 out of 5. The good: It's super convenient and innovative! You simply take a quiz about all your bra struggles and desires and they automatically pair you with bras designed to fit your needs.  For example if you have trouble with bra overhang or overly right straps, they look for bras that solve those specific issues. They even suggest different sizes for each bra based on the fit of that particular bra. You may be a 34 B in Calvin Klein, but a 32 C in Night Out, and they give you those suggestions.  Having a way to customize your bra search to your needs is very comforting. (Classy box it all comes in) It's also really convenient because you don't have to go to the stor...

How to Eat Healthy For Noobs: Tips If You Never Tried a Healthy DietBefore and Don't Know Where to Start

Image
After a good friend of mine suggested this topic to me, I thought for a while where to begin, then I procrastinated and finally late one night it hit me. If you have never really tried eating healthy before how should you begin? Replacements! What if you aren't a health-conscious eater, but you want to be? Maybe you never have been successful with dieting or you haven't had the desire to and now you think it's time to get healthy. You may want to eventually go all out, but you're new to this and you need to start small.  The easiest way to start is with the simple act of replacing. This means slowly switching out your current food and life choices for slightly more healthy versions one-by-one until you reach your health goals. It may seem simple, but too many people try to start being healthy by going straight for the latest diet or trying to change everything at once. We are bombarded by all the latest health claims and diet fads. Many of us get overwhelmed and guil...

Department Store Makeup, Drug Store Prices

Image
Today I'm going to show you how to get the best quality make up for the cheapest prices.  (My look with some of the products I'll show you)  If you haven't kept up on make up trends of late, or haven't been to the mall to see new stores such as "Skin Food" pop up, then you may not be aware that Korean make up is all the rage right now. Korean make up is very high-quality, uses a lot of natural ingredients, and works just as good as the kind of make up you expect to find at a high class department store. (On the left: Benefit's tint from Sephora costs $22, right: Korean brand Peripera's tint costs $5 +shipping ) (Left: my plain lips, right: Benefit tint after two applications ) (Left: Peripera's Cherry Juice tint water one application, right: still benefit) (So you can see for the price it's very good quality, it stands out more than my favorite tint from benefit! Though I probably will still use benefits brand for my cheeks, the Peripera's ...

New recipe -Lavender Coffee

Image
Lavender! Not just for macaroons (Though if you want to make these too go here- http://www.diaryofamadhausfrau.com/2011/08/lavender-macarons-with-orchid.html?m=1) This isn't going to be any longer than needs to be because it's quite simple. Step one : make a pot of coffee using keurig or whatever you use  Step two : get dried lavender leaves or some form of lavender tea and put it in a coffee filter  ( how much you use depends on your coffee, generally 2 teaspoons per 6 ounces of water is what is called for looseleaf tea- but I use 1 tablespoon/6 oz) Step Three: place the coffee filter filled with lavender leaves in to your coffee ,  (tip: you want to secure the filter at the top by wrapping a rubber band around it) Step four: take out the lavender leaves after two minutes Bam! You now have Lavender infused coffee that tastes delicious- add cream and sugar or whatever you usually do to coffee,  unless you usually add peppermi...
